How about this idea: For floppy-only Macs on an AppleTalk network, make a startup disk, but instead of the actual System and Finder, use aliases of the System and Finder on the AppleShare server... I know, it won't work... Well, I haven't tried it, so I cannot be sure. Maybe at least an alias for the Finder would work? -- Gerald A. No, sorry - I don't have another Mac on my network, but I tried an alias to the Finder on my hard disk and this didn't work, so I doubt very much an alias to a Finder on a server will work. Pity - it's a good idea. -- Philip Machanick philip@pescadero.stanford.edu
