I thought with the advent of System 7.0 we wouldn'tlose the comments in the Get Info boxes during a desktop file rebuild, but when I rebuild my desktop the comments disappear. In fact, the dialog box tells you a warning when you rebuild a desktop file that the comments will disappear. Does anyone know what happened to the promises of not having to worry about the Get Info comments disappearing? dmoon@phoenix.princeton.edu

I think that was just inaccurate reporting on the part of several of the trade magazines. I don't know...I could be wrong. I don't read all those rags, so I don't know what's been officially stated or not. All I really know is that no one in engineering ever told me "...and yeah! I don't read all those rags, so I don't You are right that the rags have been terrible about getting 7.0 details right, but I remember hearing an Apple Engineer (sorry, I didn't note the name) say at last year's Developers Conference (OK, maybe the year before) that comments would be durable in a desktop rebuild. It got applause even, someone else must remember it too.
