[comp.sys.mac.system] Congratulations, Apple!!

bedney@monolith.lanl.gov (Bill Edney) (05/25/91)

I'd like to congratulate everyone at Apple on the introduction of System 7!! I
have been a long-time Mac fan (March 1984, 128K, single 400K floppy) and things
sure have come a long way in seven years!! Although I have moved on to another
platform (no names, but it is a big black cube - please keep the hisses and
boos to a minimum!!), I will always have a soft spot in my heart for the Mac. I
have installed Sys 7 on my Mac at home (the same 128K, upgraded 3 times!) and
it is great. I especially like how a some of the original Mac team members
names show up in various places. Andy Hertzfeld - Mac programmer
extraordinaire. Don Dennman - various things but especially MacBasic (which
never saw the light of day due to our f(r)iends at Microsloth). Bruce Horn and
Steve Capps - the original Finder. This shows that the dream of the Mac at
Apple hasn't died (as many of us were led to believe), and that's wonderful!
Keep up the good work, Apple!!

(And let's get something like Interface Builder for the Mac!!!)
