THANK YOU APPLE! It just sunk in that the Standard Save Dialog is now consistent with the Standard Open Dialog, as far as keyboard shortcuts. How long have I been wanting that? In case you haven't noticed, in System 6.0.x, you could type file names in the Standard Open dialog to jump to files. That is, type "R" and the scrolling list of filenames jumps to the first file beginning with "R". I was always attempting to do this in the Standard Save dialog, and I ended up typing into the filename to be saved. But in System 7.0, you can tab between the saved file's name and the directory hierarchy, so you can use all shortcuts in the hierarchy. The hierarchy even has a black box around it when it is receiving keystrokes. Super nice! (Not to mention the nifty New Folder button.) -- Wayne Folta (folta@cs.umd.edu 128.8.128.8)
