What does this dialogue mean? It appears twice every time
I boot my machine, and I can't figure out how to make it
go away.....

Sounds like you placed some extensions in the Startup Items subfolder of
the System Folder. Anything placed here is opened at startup. Attempting
to open an extension produces the above dialog. Simply find the extensions
in your Startup Items folder and move them to the Extensions folder.

It means that you put a system extension (in this case 2 inits
or aliases thereof) into the startup folder, rather than the
extensions folder where they belong.

Items placed in the startup folder (which replaces "Set Startup"
from Finder < 7.0) are opened at startup. You'll get the same
dialog if you click on an init in the Finder.

Under 7.0, the System Folder is intelligent; all you need to do
is drag the init to the System folder and it will be placed in the
correct sub-Folder.

Some 7.0-unaware extensions seem to get placed in the System Folder
proper; others must be aliased back to the System Folder to work
properly. But give it a chance to work before second-guessing!

Check your Startup Items folder. You've got some extensions (or aliases)
placed in there.
