We are trying to set up a standardized method for sharing files, and I'd like some help. All system 7 macs have a folder similar to the public folder. In it are folders for each group and for a few specific people. If there is a file that we'd like for everyone in a group to have read access to, but a specific person to have write access to, it seemed that we could put an alias of the file in the group folder with read only permission, and an alias of the file in the person's file with write permission. Alas, aliases don't seem to work with file sharing. When someone tries to open a file alias over the network they get a message about the file not being findable. Any help? Thanks, Jim
