I agree Applicon's great, but if you mean it should be _part_ of the system,
I must disagree. Maybe it should be included with the distribution to
add if you want it, but definitely not included in the System / Finder.
It's big enough already. Wherever possible, inits should be replaced by
mini-applications like this one. I like to extend the functionality of
my machine, but I also like to be able to turn off the extras when I
need the RAM they occupy, or they conflict with something, and turn
them on again when I need them - without restarting.

This is just one reason Apple's decision to make "multiFinder"
permanent is correct.

Down with inits! Long live applications!

I've gotten applicon to work right away.  I concatenated the files in WORD,
and cut out the lines above the BinHex'ed file.  It works fine and looks
great!

On a related note of things lost in System 7....  Does anyone know of
an application launcher like On Cue or MultiMaster that has survived or
been updated to work with System 7?

I really miss MultiMaster... :-(
