A couple of miscellaneous ideas about fonts and sounds in System 7: 1. It would be nice if double-clicking on a font (or sound) fired up a font editor (or sound editor, such as the one that's part of Hypercard) instead of merely displaying (or playing) the double-clicked object. Presumably, one could change the default behavior using Understudy, but I don't know how to get at Hypercard's sound editor from outside, nor do I know of a public domain font editor. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get this to work? This would be real useful. It would also be conceptually nice since fonts and sounds would become analogous to text and pictures (which open up via editors such as TeachText when they are double-clicked). 2. Is there any reason fonts and sounds have to be stored in the System file rather than in a separate folder (say, Fonts and Sounds folders in the System Folder)? Again, this would treat fonts and sounds more like other objects. This would also make the System file be smaller. Fonts could be loaded on demand when needed. Can I get this to happen in System 7?
