I am confused about the capabilities of System 7 filesharing. Several people have told me that filesharing supports a maximum of 10 simultaneous clients. In "The System 7 Book," Craig Danuloff sez(page 268): "File Sharing can serve only 10 folders or volumes from one Macintosh at a time, and support only 50 users at one time (and that would be pushing it)." So, what is the correct story? If one is setting up a Mac fileserver on a dedicated Mac, what are the advantages/disadvantages of using AppleShare, vs. System 7 filesharing? -- Clauss Strauch Engineering Design Research Center Carnegie Mellon University cbs@edrc.cmu.edu
