Greetings, A couple of weeks ago, I posted a plea for help both here and on America Online, trying to figure out why my most frequently used apps' icons were reverting to "generic" app icons. Further examination revealed that all the apps in question had aliases in the Apple Menu Items folder One of the "Blue Meanies" on AO suggested the following: Older (beta) versions of the Finder had a slightly different alias format, and this format, if encountered by the release Finder, can confuse it. He advised replacing aliases created with beta versions of 7 with new ones, created with the release system. I did as he suggested, and at the next boot my icons were back. They're still here, too. So, if you're having the generic icon problem, check to make sure that you don't have any old aliases lurking around! Thanks all! --Mike
