Something extemely odd seems to have happened to my Macintosh: When I originally installed system 7 on my IIsi I am sure I was able to copy and paste sounds via the clipboard. Other people seem to be able to do this. The clipboard contents line can be "picture" "text" "Styled text" or "sound". I remember copying the sound "Indigo" from the system file and looking at the clipboard to see: "Clipboard contents : Sound" followed by a buton to let me play the sound (there instead of a picture, lines of text etc etc) Now however I just can't convince the clipboard to accept sounds! Whenever I select 'copy' from the menus (or use the key equiv), the sound IS NOT PASTED INTO THE CLIPBOARD. All that gets put there is the text title of the sound: "Clipboard contents: text" followed by Indigo or whatever the sound's name was... Something that is even weirder is that it just isn't possible for me to get the sound copied via the clipboard at all now. In a fit of desperation I built a minimal system on a FDHD floppy (using the installer). Booting off the floppy and dismounting my internal HD before I did anything STILL resulted in only the "Text" of the sound title being copied into the clipboard. Can anyone help? - I expect it's really simple... ______________________________________________________________________________ Richard Williams, | Department of Electronics and Computer Science, | Southampton University, | EMAIL ADDRESS: Highfield, | rdw89@ecs.soton.ac.uk Southampton. | ______________________________________________________________________________
