Hi, y'all - I was going to give it a rest, but my mailbox has been crammed with messages from people who like Applicon, but want more options and features. It was taking so long to answer my mail, I figured I'd save time by giving you what you want. :-) So, version 2.1 is nearly ready for release, but I need beta testers. I need a variety of people: some who are using Applicon 2.0 now, and some who have never used it; some with color, some with grayscale, some with b&w; some with big screens and some with little screens; some with Classics, LC's, IIfx's, SE/30's, and all the rest. The requirements are: 1) You must be running System 7.0. 2) You must be willing to exercise Applicon, not just drop it in the Startups folder and forget it. 3) You must be serious about sending results back to me, after about a month of testing. 4) You must agree not to give test versions to ANYONE else. 5) You must be willing to do it for fun, because I can't pay you a nickel. (Applicon itself is free.) If you'd like to be a beta tester, send me E-mail (DON'T POST! I will respond only to applicants who can exchange E-mail with me) specifying the following: - Your machine type (Classic, LC, IIx, whatever) - How much real and virtual memory you have - Whether you run in 32-bit mode - Number, size, and color depth of your monitors - Whether you are now using Applicon, and whether you have ever used Applicon. Not everyone who replies will be selected as a tester (probably). I will respond to your mail quickly (so you know I got it), but I won't pick testers or send out the software until I've received enough satisfactory applicants and chosen among them. I hope this will only take a week or so. In article <13956@goofy.Apple.COM> I wrote: > version 2.1 is nearly ready for release, but I need beta testers. I've got enough volunteers now! Thanks to all who've responded. I could still use a couple of folks with Mac LC's, if none have shown up in today's mail. If you sent me mail, asking to be a beta tester, you should get a response from me within a day or two. If you haven't heard anything by Wednesday or Thursday (June 12 and 13) feel free to write again. I've tried to get a quick response to everyone but I may have dropped one or two balls... the response has been gratifying but hard to keep up with. :-) ========================================================================== Rick Holzgrafe | {sun, voder, nsc, mtxinu, dual}!apple!rmh Software Engineer | AppleLink HOLZGRAFE1 rmh@apple.com Apple Computer, Inc. | "All opinions expressed are mine, and do 20525 Mariani Ave. MS: 3-PK | not necessarily represent those of my Cupertino, CA 95014 | employer, Apple Computer Inc."
