Greetings, MODE32 just arrived, and I seem to have established that it works okay with America Online, DiskDoubler, GIFCOnverter 2.2.6, HyperCard, MS Word, Stuffit Classic, and ZTerm. It also seems to coexist nicely with SuperBoomerang. It definitely doesn't work with the Radius Pivot (bombs on pivoting). Evidently, there is a Radius ROM fix, so I'll be ordering it soon. The big problem so far is, if I run with ATM installed, and I crank a program and call up a font like Palatino (not TrueType), and expand it so that ATM is required to image, I drop into MacsBug. Has anybody else had this problem? This is with ATM 2.0. Thanks! --Mike

Adobe more or less acknowledges this in their forum on Compu$erve where they detail some problem one can face with ATM 2.0 and System 7.0 under 32-bit. They have announced an upgrade for later this summer. Switching back to 24-bit mode lets everything work without a hitch on my IIci. -- X-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-X X David Baird xdab@midway.uchicago.edu X X University of Chicago d-baird@uchicago.edu X X University Computing Organizations (312) 702-7161 X

This is with ATM 2.0. The current release of ATM doesn't work in 32-bit mode. It's the main thing that holds me back from using 32-bit mode right now (that and the price of 16M of addition memory :-) -- michael peirce -- Michael Peirce -- outpost!peirce@claris.com -- Peirce Software -- Suite 301, 719 Hibiscus Place -- Macintosh Programming -- San Jose, California 95117 -- & Consulting -- (408) 244-6554, AppleLink: PEIRCE

ATM 2.0 is not 32-Bit clean. This is not a MODE32 problem.

ATM 2.0 is not 32-bit clean. (That is, the incompatibility isn't with MODE32, it's with 32-bit addressing.) I'm told a fix is in the works. ========================================================================== Rick Holzgrafe | {sun, voder, nsc, mtxinu, dual}!apple!rmh Software Engineer | AppleLink HOLZGRAFE1 rmh@apple.com Apple Computer, Inc. | "All opinions expressed are mine, and do 20525 Mariani Ave. MS: 3-PK | not necessarily represent those of my Cupertino, CA 95014 | employer, Apple Computer Inc."
