I encountered exactly the same problem with several utilities. According to the author of Switch, it stems from the fact that FileSharing is a background only process and therefore cannot be brought to the front. Apparently most of these utilities don't properly handle these background only processes. Switch 1.01 now does work properly, and it also has the added feature of assigning a hot-key combo to switch between applications. I've been using it for a day or so with no problems.
