Hi, I'm restricted to a trimmed down MacOS consisting of System 6.0.3, Finder 6.1, and AppleShare 2.0.1 (taken from Apple's distribution CD). I'm running on floppy-based Mac Plus with 2.5Mb RAM and one remotely mounted disk volumen via CAP's aufs application. PROBLEM: when in Finder and choose View by Name (from Icon) the Mac Plus crashes with address error. Tracing with MacsBug, the error occurs at location 0025c774 with instruction *BCHG D1,-(A5). A 'sc7' tells me that the OS was: SetHandleSize MoreMasters PtInRect SetHandleSize GetFontInfo ShieldCursor RectInRgn Dispatcher Get1Resource PtInRect Dispatcher *crash* I know the above is vague, so ... It looks to me like the OS is looking for some font resource and (assuming it didn't get it) starts using it and causes the address error. Sound crazy? Checking the font's in System file ... it has all the basic ones Geneva, Monaco, Times, Helvetica, Chicago, and Courier including different sizes. Anything missing? I'm going to try System 6.0.5 (inc. Finder, AppleShare) but I'm pretty confused why this is happening. I used BootMan and increased the System Heap (from 128K to 256K) and max. number of open files (from 20 to 40). Still crashes at same location. Any takers on this one?
