Regarding recent discussions about slowness in printing, our campus Mac specialist sent me the following: Yes, the 7.0 print manager does use built-in PostScript fonts in preference to TrueType (and bitmap) fonts. And yes, the PostScript generated by the LaserWriter driver is bigger, because it is always sending the (what used to be called) LaserPrep file. This is now done so that Laser-Wars no longer is a problem with future releases. Steve Goldfield UC Berkeley
