I'm about to commission a 8MB IIci with a 210MB disk. I'd like to reserve about 16MB as the paging partition for System 7 virtual memory. Does the placement of the partition (e.g. inner vs outer cylinders) affect either performance or functionality? Should I reserve more space? I'd like to get this right the first time as reorganizing the disk will be a pain once I load the data partitions. In case it matters, I'll be using Silverlining (I've got 5.25 now and am waiting for 5.30, which I understand is required to use VM). I don't have the System 7 software or documentation, so I can't RTFM. Any advice will be appreciated. If the responses warrant it, I'll post a summary.
