In our Macintosh lab, I used to lock down Telnet icons by dragging them to a partition, then to the desktop, and then locking the disk which the icons were on. Now, under System 7, I would like to use aliases to the real icons, and lock them down on the desk. However, when I lock the disk, the aliases aren't "aliases" anymore; they are recognized as "real" documents. So, now I need a way to keep students from throwing away my aliases. I realize I could just keep the normal icons on the desk, but the aliases make the administration easier. Any suggestions on how to do this? Thanks in advance, Eric -- J.
