We are trying to send Postscript files prepared with LaserPrep and command-k to a LaserWriter attached to a remote system. In theory, this should work without a hitch, but in practice, some graphic shapes are not drawn correctly. Vertical lines are problematic, with most of them skewing off the page entirely, and some circular shapes are distorted into long flat ellipses. Text works okay, and mixed text and graphics work together in part. It does not seem to have anything to do with where stuff is on the page; i.e., it not just occuring at the beginning or the end of the file. Of course, the same file prints perfectly on the same LaserWriter hooked directly to a Mac. Does someone from Apple have any experience with this sort of problem. I have seen messages from others indicating that they have also run into this sort of thing.... -- | ...we have to look for routes of power our teachers never | imagined, or were encouraged to avoid.
