I had heard a proposal back in the sixties about some gentlemen who were proposing a system whereby the caller's phone number would be transmitted to the called party. Their solution to the unlisted phone number problem was to have an encrypted phone number display on the called phone. If the caller found the call to be an annoyance call, the phone company could decode the number to find the calling party. Since the issue has basically degenerated into a low flame, could we please move the discussion to net.flame? Thank you one and all. Derek Andrew; U of Saskatchewan
