This is pulled from the June 1990 Issue of MacUser from a MacWarehouse full- page advertisement for the Marathon 03 processor card: ------------ Turn your Mac into a System 7 POWERHOUSE for only $449! In a matter of weeks, Apple will release SYSTEM 7 and make it available to all ^^^^^ existing Mac users! And there's a large pool of SYSTEM 7 software ready to run RIGHT NOW! Soon, the multi-tasking capabilities of SYSTEM 7 will allow your ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Mac to run new and much more powerful applications. [Some legitimate if inflated copy deleted] You'll be amazed at the increase in speed of your present applications with the Marathon 030 Upgrade. You'll race through graphics and database processing at speeds equivalent to computers costing thousands more. ------------ So, I hope everyone is getting ready for the drastically moved-up release of System 7. Finally, multi-tasking capability for the Macintosh! I certainly hope it's 'real.' And it will be nice to finally be able to use all that System 7 software I have hanging about uselesslly. As well as the massive speedup despite using the same width bus and clock rate. Seriously, I find this to be almost criminally misleading. A good deal of people are not in a position to know any better. I am rather upset at a company that would publish garbage like this. This is based on what I have heard about the Marathon and System 7 - I mean, SYSTEM 7! -- Mark Routbort Due to circumstances beyond my control, rout@tank.uchicago.edu There will be no big parade this Sunday. -- Colonel Scheisskopf in Catch-22
