  Although I was not the original poster, I got one of these drives and
followed that suggestion.  I put it after the HD.

  Funny thing, though, was that almost immediately afterward my 80MB Seagate
external started making LOUD METALLIC BANGING NOISES.  It was really
distracting.  Ehman replaced the drive 3 times and each time the new drive
had the same problem.

  So I sent my CD back to the MacZone and got my money back, then bought a
Toshiba-based CD Technologies drive from MacConnection.

  The banging went away, the drive was nice and fast, and the termination
was great.

  DON'T BUY THE NEC CDR-35 IF YOU HAVE AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE OR COULD EVER
WANT TO GET ONE!!!
