[comp.sys.mac.misc] STEROID - GateKeeper defends?

ogawa@sm.sony.co.jp (Masato Ogawa) (06/07/90)

   According to the articles in comp.sys.mac.announce about the new Torojan
Horse "STEROID" init, SAM II can't not guard our Mac. Then how about
GateKeeper?

  And Chuq said STEROID begins to work on June 6, but Symantec in the next
article about SAM II setting said on July 1... Which is correct?

Whats the big deal? Look in your system folder (veiw by name)
no " STEROID" right at the top - no problem or am I missing something?

and is there some way that this init could get into my system folder
without me putting it there?

Now I hear they moved the date to july 1. All that trauma when I
started up this morning was for nothing :-}

Thank you.

I managed LANed many Mac's. It is much easier that GateKeeper's already
installed on all the Mac prevent the activity of "STEROID" than that
I walk around all the Mac and check very machine of No "STEROID" and
teach all the people who may use Mac's not to install "STEROID" if he have.
