Once I got mad enough to tell MacsBug "EA" (a nasty word in its language, which means give up on the Finder and re-enter it.) I wonder why it didn't work for me today. Someone used my system to
copy a file to his diskette, then walked away with the diskette leaving
the ghost image. I tried command-period a couple times, but finally had
to go back and get the diskette.
System 6.0.4 running multifinder. I doubt if anything else matters.

I just rapid fire CMD-. until the blasted ghost goes away or I get a
bomb. Somewhat enjoyable if I had a hard day and I win (ghost goes
away!) :-) For the most part, I win!
