Recently I bought a used Mac II and installed MS Word 3.02 on it. When I do a spell check and then try to open an additional dictionary, I can induce a crash (error # 01) by moving up in the folder hierarchy. It happens when I click on the box with the name of the current folder, drag down to the next folder up in the hierarchy, and release the mouse button. It may take several up-and-down selections before it happens. It never happened on my Mac Plus or when I put 3.02 on my Mac II at work. I've removed the entire System Folder and replaced it from the latest 6.0.5 freshly-downloaded from Apple.com. No non-Apple CDEVs or INITs, and it still happens. Which directory I'm leaving seems to have nothing to do with it. Any ideas? Is this fixed in 4.0? I've never seen it on the 4.0 in my office. (If MS would send me the form, I'd upgrade my home copy.) There was a discussion a couple of weeks ago about different versions of the Mac II (I believe) motherboard. Could someone please send me a summary of that? Are there different versions of Mac II ROMs, some of which are buggy? Thanks very much. Paul Suhler Hybrid Dataflow Systems
