[comp.sys.mac.misc] The Stanford Archives and Uploading

wolf@mel.cipl.uiowa (06/28/90)

I am wanting to post something to the Archives at Stanford.Edu, I couldn't do a
SEND from anonymous FTP, it said I didn't have permission. So how do I go
about uploading something to that site? Thanks.

Unbeknownst to most people, it seems, is the /info-mac/help directory, which
contains, among other things, a short file called "posting guidelines."
Strangly enough, this file has instructions for posting files to the
archives.

In fact, here's the very first item on the list:

    o Administrivia goes to info-mac-request@sumex-aim.stanford.edu.
Programs and messages to be included in digests go to
      info-mac@sumex-aim.stanford.edu.

Hey, wow! Look, it answers your question! That's what help files are for...
