The ImageWriter II in Draft mode generates reasonably high-quality print. I wouldn't want to use it for important letters, but it is quite adequate for such things as mailing labels and reports from a database, and it is much faster than using either of the non-draft printing modes. The problem - I haven't been able to find a font/size combination that maps exactly onto one of the builtin IW-II fonts. The result is that, when printing in Draft mode, the letters look nice, but the spacing between words is off. I even went so far as to write a program that does DrawString() using various fonts and sizes. I couldn't find a combination that got the spacing right. (I even tried imageWRITER-10. It did worse than a lot of others like geneva and courier.) Does anyone know if there is a font that maps exactly to the IW-II builtin fonts? Or, is there a way to coerce the IW-II driver into doing the "right" thing (without modifying the application)? I'd appreciate any help. David A.
