For those who expressed interest, the following article came out of the September 13, 1983 issue of the Rocky Mountain News: ARTIST MAY LEAVE 'COUNTY' Berke Breathed, 26, author and artist of the popular comic strip "Bloom County", which appears in the Rocky Mountain News said Monday he may stop producing the strip if he can't negotiate a new contract with the Washington Post Writer's Group. A recent conflict with the syndicate occurred when it wanted to use Bloom County characters on glasses to be sold at a fast-food chain, Breathed said.
