It could only mean one of two things happened: (1) "Jones, R & D needs to come up with a new product" "I'll start the ball rolling, chief. You'll have a list of disposable executives on your desk by morning. The money we save should be more than enough to finance the undertaking." (2) "Jones, R & D needs to come up with a new product" "Chief, can you tell me what kind of product?" "An integrated low-cost color macintosh." "Sir, in that case, fire Grey & Blanche, they've been blocking new color machines for twelve months until their performance reviews comes due." "But it needs to be for Education" "Oh, then we also need to fire Wiley & Wilkes, they've been spending the educational products money on the new wrist-IIz, the apple-II wristradio computer." "Fine, see that it's done by sundown tomorrow." Is it any wonder why this country is in such bad shape?
