[comp.sys.mac.misc] Mac+ power supply cost?

dave@PRC.Unisys.COM (David Lee Matuszek) (07/12/90)

I just had the power supply replaced (yet again) on my Mac+. The
dealer wants $145.50 for the board and $60 labor. It's been a couple of
years since the last time, and my memory isn't all that great, but
this seems to be about twice as much as I remember.

So, to anyone who has replaced a power supply lately:

	- Is this a typical (not reasonable, just typical) current
price for a Mac+ power supply? What did you pay?

	- How much labor should the board swap require? Is there
a "blue book" kind of thing for this?

And for anybody:

	- If these charges are unreasonable, what is the official
	  complaint channel?

Please e-mail me, and I will summarize to the net. And PLEASE let's
not get into a discussion of the (legendary) failings of the Mac power
supply; the net isn't designed for that much traffic...

Quick responses preferred; I have to go pick it up. And thanks in
advance to anyone who replies.
