Some time ago I purchased the AppleSC CD-ROM drive and tried the "Audio Track Stack" Hypercard stack on the "d e v e l o p" volume 2 CD-ROM. I followed its instructions (copying the stack to my hard disk) and ran it. It was an interesting example of CD audio played along with images of two dancing fish. Yesterday, I tried to run the same demonstration for a friend. I still had the stack on my hard disk, so I put the CD into the player and double clicked on the stack. Unfortunately, the CD I inserted was the "Technical Support Information Source" demo disk (from Apple/MacUser). The result was two dancing fish on the screen with a voice introducing "...you will hear messages from two distinguished personalities in today's computer industry: Jean-Louis Gassee ... and John C. Dvorak...". My friend was a bit perplexed why anyone would want to watch fish (one with a French accent) dance and talk about computers... Oh well, they say demos are the best way to debug a system... -- Bob Shields vbob@umd5.umd.edu
