What is a color map on a color Mac? I have a Mac IIcx with a color monitor. Sometimes I change the colors using the dialog box with the color wheel and the arrow boxes for hue and etc. (I have an 8 bit color monitor card.) Most of the time, after I exit the dialog box, the color I have changed *reverts to its previous state*!!! This is very frustrating. For example, when I fiddle with the desktop pattern, I can only use the colors supplied. When I try to make a gray bluer, for example, it goes back to the way it was. In some programs, for example, a physics program called Flux Tube, the colors stay changed. When they do, the desktop pattern changes too. In the cdev, it stays the way it was previously; outside the cdev, it goes to the changed colors.... This must have something to do with "color map"...Is the color map on the video card or elsewhere?
