[comp.sys.mac.misc] Strange stuff on my Mac-II

minow@mountn.dec.com (Martin Minow) (07/13/90)

My office Mac-II seems to have invented two new ways to make my life
miserable:

-- it's decided that the default font (applFont) is to be Chicago.
Zapping the parameter ram (command/option/shift Control Panel)
   has no effect.

-- Stuffit has decided that all new archives should be password encrypted.

Suggestions (Email is fine; I'll summarize) are welcome.

Thanks.

Martin.

In article <1768@mountn.dec.com> I asked about two strange problems, and
received useful answers by mail, for which many thanks:

-- The default font was set to Chicago. This was fixed by the ApplFont
Cdev from the Sumex archvies. Send mail to me if you can't get a
copy there. (Happiware, and I did smile!)

-- Stuffit has a "NewDE Encrypt" menu option, if checked it encrypts the
archive. Dunno who set it (wasn't me), but it's ok now.

Again, thanks.

Next week, bizarre problems on my home SE. Stay tuned. New, unknown virus?
memory error? loose nut in the keyboard/mouse interface (i.e., me)? Who knows?
