I have a question, which perhaps you can help me with.
Mac word processors like Word come with printer drivers, so you can
use other printers. This means you can use the LQ mode of 24-dpi
printers.
My question has 2 parts.
1) which 24-dpi printers have a Cyrillic (Russian) character set either
built-in or available on an expansion card?
2) Are there any utilities that would let a word processor like Word
or Word Perfect work with such a printer? This would involve
a) a font for screen display
b) the screen font must use the same ASCII mapping as the font in
the printer
c) There must be a printer driver that knows how to switch to the
right font on the printer
The main thrust of this is to have high-quality Cyrillic.
The other goal, should this fail, is to have low-quality Cyrillic and
high-quality English in the same doc, and ideally on the same line.
Can word processors combine resident and bit-mapped fonts?
Thanx for any help.
