A friend of mine brought me a damaged disk to try to repair on my IIci using MacTools. I popped the floppy into the SuperDrive, and nothing happened in a very significant way: there was no noise from the drive, and my mac froze up. the cursor could still move, but i could not access the menu, launch an application, nothing. I had to reboot to regain control of the machine. I put the floppy into another friend's SE which also has a superdrive, and the drive attempted to read it and announced that the floppy was damaged and asked if i would like for the system to try to repair it. Why did inserting this Floppy from Hell make my entire system freeze? Incidentally, my friend had a couple of other bad disks, and my drive was able to figure out they were bad and repair them. Also, the shutter on the Floppy from Hell seemed to slide OK and the floppy could be manually spun with no problem. Any guesses would be greatly appreciated.
