Judging from the fact that a beta version of System 6.0.6 showed up on AppleLink today, it is very likely that the "Low Cost" Macs will be with us within a couple of weeks. System 6.0.3 beta arrived just a few weeks before the IIcx, so I suspect the time frame is the same. Soon, it seems, we will find out what "Low Cost" means to the overpaid upper-level management at Apple. :-) -- Mark Wilkins

If Apple wants to catch the college crowd, they should probably
release the "Low Cost" Mac sooooon! Unless, of course, the plan is to
unload all the old Mac Plus's and SE's on us. Anyway, isn't Oct. 15
the day Apple is going to announce (and ship!!) the new Macs?
