[comp.sys.mac.misc] Jasmine repairs? Anybody?

hu8@vax5.cit.cornell.edu (07/31/90)

Are there any independent places where one can get a Jasmine DirectDrive
repaired? (Rodime mechansim) Some people have apparantly been able to
get in touch with Jasmine, but I've never been able to get through on the
phone. (I'd obviously like to get it working as soon as possible and as
inexpensively as possible.) Any help on this matter is appreciated.

On a related note to the above, does anyone know where I can get parts
used in a Jasmine? In particular, I'm looking for a C3236 transistor
(probably a 2SC3236) and a pair of 330 uF 200 volt caps?

I dunno about independent places where you can get it repaired, but my 80
MB DirectDrive's CC died about a month ago, and I got through to them (with
a bit of perseverance) without too much trouble. They replaced everything
(CC, platter) & actually got it finished in about 3 weeks...as opposed to
the 2 month turn-around time they mentioned originally.

I'd suggest that you just keep trying; the direct number to service is
415-282-9555. Good luck!

I thought it might be worth mentioning that we, too, sent in a hard
drive (40MB) to Jasmine for repair, and got it back in a similar
time-frame -- 2-3 weeks. Especially if it's warranty work, it's
definitely worth trying to get Jasmine to do it.
