I am posting this on behalf of a friend whose news feed is currently broken. Please email reponses direct to him at ralph@cm.cf.ac.uk. I am having some problems with the combination of 6.0.5 and Virtual 2.0, on Rodime Cobra disks. I believe there's a newer version of Virtual, 2.0.2. (I have virtual for a Mac II with PMMU). Does anyone out there know what it does differently to 2.0? And has anyone out there recently purchased a Rodime Cobra drive? It might also be worth me giving a shot at upgrading the Cobra driver. If anyone else has had similar problems, let me know. Symptoms are various crashed low level disk structures, often preceeded by a "sawing" noise coming from the disk.... Ralph

I'm not sure what's wrong with the virtual and the sawing noise etc, but... I have the newest Virtual for Mac II (2.03) and System 6.0.5 and I have had no problems with it so far (I'm using a Rodime 140 internal). You may want to call connectix. They may give you a free update. -Mike Darweesh weesh@crd.ge.com
