A customer's SE/30 started life with one meg and Virtual set to eight; the performance was somewhat pits-like. When it was upped to 2 megs real, load performance went 'way up! (And I never expected to see page thrashing on a micro!) Apropos of that, what's the latest Virtual for the IIfx? The 2.0.3 betas I got from Connectix don't work on my father's IIfx with the pretty standard inits. I've also tried turning all of them off with Aask, but the system crashes during startup! Is this one of those "you need more spaces in front of the name" problems, or should I merely perseve? I know there was some thought that perhaps Apple had created a silent revision of the ROMSIMMs for the IIfx, and that some machines were thought allergic to Virtual therefore. But perhaps that has been ironed out? Yes, I'll call Connectix, Real Soon Now :-), but I thought the Net might have some insights....
