I am a project leader of a senior design group. Our two semester mission is to get a software/hardware setup that will walk students through their labs monitoring voltages, etc. etc. making appropriate graphs, aiding in write-ups. We're looking into all sorts of video/audio digitizing and instrument control from a mac (probably an SE/30). So far we've gotten information from National Instruments on their IEEE-488 interface cards and CyberResearch. I know nothing about these companies, this kind of hardware, and whether anyone else has attempted this. Both companies supply drivers in THINK_C and MPW C. I personally prefer THINK_C 'cause I own a copy and it'll be easier on our project budget. Does anybody have information on these companies? Anybody use this equipment before? Anybody see any other options open? It seems we'll be working with a IIfx, and about 23 SE/30's with about 5MB RAM 40MB HD and i suppose they will be networked.
