There *are* two programs which can, at least based on their ads, convert Type 3 fonts to Type 1 fonts. One is Evolution, available from Image Club Graphics, and the second is Altsys' Metamorphosis v1.5. Anyone know whether or not these programs do what they claim, and do it well? (BTW, why can't the new Fontographer 3.1 just load in a Type 3 font and save it as Type 1?) --------------------------------------------------------------- David Zinkin -- Case Western Reserve University (Student) and Rochester General Hospital Radiology Dept. Or maybe it does and we just haven't heard. I have read that they plan a future release that will read/write Type 1, Type 3 and TrueType fonts and convert between them, so it's coming if it isn't here. -- Chuq Von Rospach <+> chuq@apple.com <+> [This is myself speaking] mumble..mumble...mumble...mumbleLemieuxSCORE!!!!!!!...mumble...mumble..mumble

Because then you wouldn't have to buy Metamorphosis... ;-) Seriously, I think MacUser mentioned that FontStudio could do this, and that it effectively replaced the Fontographer/Metamorphosis combination. -- Steve Baumgarten | "New York... when civilization falls apart, Davis Polk & Wardwell | remember, we were way ahead of you." baumgart@esquire.dpw.com | cmcl2!esquire!baumgart | - David Letterman
