[net.followup] Path Signatures

debray@sbcs.UUCP (Saumya Debray) (09/15/83)

Personally, I find the path signatures appended by the author redundant: the
news system itself takes care of adding the path if I'm sending a reply or a
followup (and has done so ever since I've been on the net!); a saved article
has the path information in its header.

Besides, what's an "important" site for you might not be one for me.

I've been having trouble replying to several replies mailed to me, mostly,
I think, due to my lack of understanding about ARPA addresses.

Besides, judging by some of the horror stories, including a path as text is
the only way to insure it won't get munged.

*** Personal to Paul G.: Mail doesn't seem to be getting through, please call.
