Folks, I just purchased DiskExpress 2.04, and gleefully started to optimize my 80 Mb hard drive. However, there seems to a problem with my drive directory that needs fixing before DiskExpress can work. I get the following error message when verifying the directory: "A file with ID 13,266 has allocation blocks allocated to it but the main file information is missing" I used Disk First Aid but it says no repairs are necessary. Now, apparently this file (ID 13,266) is long gone, but the directory still has some blocks allocated to the file. How can I free them? I DON'T want to recreate the directory by erasing the disk, since my only back up method is via floppies! Can I use ResEdit or SUM's disk editor to do the job? Please help? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sunil Bhatla ||| INTERNET: bhatlas@pyrite.som.cwru.edu Case Western Reserve University ||| VOICE: 216/368-2061 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sunil Bhatla ||| INTERNET: bhatlas@pyrite.som.cwru.edu Case Western Reserve University ||| VOICE: 216/368-2061 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
