[comp.sys.mac.misc] fixing bad blocks on disks?

cohen@boulder.Colorado.EDU (COHEN MATTHEW I) (10/09/90)

Question to mac guru's from a neophyte: When there are problems with copying
files to a disk (getting the "could not be copied-disk error" message), some
one told me that it was because of bad blocks. I have have verified the disk,
and can find no probs, but I still can't use 200K of my disk! (1.4 meg HD disk)
Is this a problem with the disk? Is it fixable by reformatting? using a magnet?
throwing into a large snowbank and jumping on it?

Any help would be appriciated, thanx much in advance
