Hurray! Given the proper spells and components by Peter Norton Computing, I was able to send the FFH's back where they came from. Norton Utilities 1.0 for the Mac was unable to solve my problem, so Marvin Carlberg at PNCI looked at the problem, and sent me the necessary information to correct the problem by hand. Voila, no more FFH's. The problem, for those of you who are interested, was that two of the records in my Catalog B-tree were in reverse order (don't ask me how they got that way!). Mr. Carlberg assured me that NU for the Mac will be able to fix this problem in the next release. He said that it didn't seem to be a common problem, but there are probably a lot of ways to screw up the catalog B-tree that will create FFH's. So even if NU for the Mac was unable to fix the problem, I don't have enough good things to say about their support -- it was just superb.
