[comp.sys.mac.misc] INFO WANTED: Portrait Displays for the Mac II

dan@chaos.cs.brandeis.edu (Dan Schwarz) (10/18/90)

I'm on the verge of purchasing a Mac IIsi, and I'll need a good portrait
(full-page) display to go with it. The IIsi video is identical to the IIci;
it'll drive a 13" color monitor in 8 bits or a full page display in 4 bits.

Here are my requirements:

Must be able to handle GREYSCALE (not just 1-bit B&W)
Must be CHEAP ($700 or lower...)
Must be GOOD QUALITY, or at least reasonable for long term viewing

I've seen ads for the Samsung, Nutmeg, Mirror, Ehman displays which are all
in my price range... anyone have positive or negative experiences with these
that they can report? I think that Radius has discontinued their FPD in favor
of the (expensive!) Pivot display.

Actually, I'd appreciate info about any FP screens you use (expensive or not)
that are greyscale and good quality. I will summarize to the net. Thanks!

_Dan
