[comp.sys.mac.misc] SE30 logic board problem ?

cpk@valideast.COM (NANJIL NESAN) (10/19/90)

After a severe software crash my se30 wouldn't boot up at all. In fact
it did not even get through the memory test. It just put horizontal
stripes on the monitor. Pressing the reset button made it go into an
infinite loop of playing strange musical sound. I took it to the
dealer and he promptly replaced the logic board for $500. Luckily it was
still under warranty. It works fine now.

After I took it to the delaer my collegue told me that severe software
crashes can some times make the machine forget its rom(?) parameter
settings. He said pulling out the internal battery and replacing it
again might have just solved the problem.

Any comments?
