[comp.sys.mac.misc] System Memory Usage Question

derosa@motcid.UUCP (John DeRosa) (10/18/90)

I have two identically configured Macintosh
computer setups. By using the about finder,
I see that one uses about 1.5meg of RAM for
the system and the other uses about 2.5meg.

Why is this so different.

I have removed all the inits, etc and reloaded
the system (and even threw the system away and
started over again).

One clue...someone had a MacII that used about
2.1meg for the system before re-intializing his
hard drive. Then the system went to about 1.2megs?!?!

Any help would be appreciated.

Check the Cache in the Control Panel. So often I find them set at 1 meg.
You know there's a problem when you can't run two programs on a 2.5 meg machine
under MF...
