Well, thanks to the local Apple dealership and the Apple academic representative, I've gotten my hands on *both* versions of HyperCard 2.0 and can verify for everyone what the differences are. (At least the ones I can tell. :-) (1) Full version: Has all of the stacks one would expect based on experience with HyperCard 1.2.x and earlier (Phone, Addresses, Clip Art, etc.) Small version: Has only Appointments and Addresses stacks in addition to a vastly different Home stack. (2) Full version: Five disks. Small version: Two disks. (3) Full version: Defaults to Userlevel 2 (Typing) but can be easily changed to Userlevel 5 (Scripting). Small version: Defaults to Userlevel 2 and cannot be changed unless the "secret" enabling process is discovered. (Even for a HyperCard novice like me it didn't take much time to figure out the secret...trust me!) True to Apple's words, the HC 2.0 application is the same in both versions of the package. -- Dave Zinkin P.S. Would I be breaking any rules if I posted the complete method for enabling scripting in the small HC 2.0 package? I'd be happy to do so if I can be certain that I won't be paid a visit by Apple's or Claris's lawyers.
