[comp.sys.mac.misc] HIK : A New Tool To Build Mac Applications

gourdol@imag.imag.fr (Gourdol Arnaud) (11/03/90)

Well, I can suppose you can consider this post as an official
announcement.
Seeing everybody arguing about wether the N*XT is easier to program
than the Mac, and some telling the Mac is easy to program (which is not
my opinion), I finally decided to make public a library to ease
the pain of Mac developers.
Being developer myself since 1984, I wrote two years ago a tool
to realy simplify the process of writing a Mac application.
It is a library of code for MPW or THINK. It is "object oriented"
but do not requires use of an object oriented language, altough
interfaces for these languages are provided. As far as now there
is no graphic editor to design your application.
It offers the following :
* Multi-documents
* Scrolling
* Windows display and update
* Printing
* Clipboard handling
* Memory management
* Multi-thrading
* Full MultiFinder support
* System 7.0 friendly (including AppleEvents)
* Extra tools to draw in offscreens and do animations
* Dialog management (improved Dialog Manager)
* MacDraw-like objects
* Several examples applications
* A presentation HyperCard stack
* A complete manual
* No royalty for your applications

It's price is US$ 99. (Not 999, just 99).
It's a shareware.
The source-code is not provided, so that your applications
can benefit of future enhancements to HIK.

I am looking for someone to make it available thru ftp site or
thru any wide-diffusion medium.

Arnaud Gourdol, Odyssey.

Disclaimer : IMAG has nothing to do with Odyssey, nor with HIK.
